Fort Girls' Mission High School was founded by Ms Augusta Mary Blandford, an English missionery and a strong worker of Indian Female Normal School and Instruction Society, with the permission of Ayyillam Thirunal Rama Varma, then ruler of erst while Trava
It was at a time when the persons and organizations of the West came forward to liberate the women of India suffering hard hemmed in by social evils and customs. It was in 1864, Ms Blandford arrived in Trivandrum with a mission from Church of England, Zenana Mission Society (CEZMS).
The year-long 150th anniversary celebrations of the Fort Girls' Mission High School, Fort, Thiruvananthapuram, will begin on February 16, 2013. The celebrations will commence with a special proclamation procession by students along with the 149th Annual day celebrations
Alumnae of this school includes Government Secretaries in the IAS Cadre, University Professors, Professionals like Doctors and Engineers, Teachers, well known authors and popular Film artists shining as bright examples of the growth and development of the school.
To reminisce the efforts of the missionary who has brought women's education to the Limelight, the new building of our school is named after our founder Miss Agastha Mary Blandford. The block was dedicated on 2nd June 2022 by Most. Rev. Dharmaraj Rasalam. The building was an initiative of the school manager Mr. Suku C Oommen.
